Final Blog Post

It has finally arrived it is our last few weeks as being a senior and not a college "freshman". So excited I do not know what to do. St. Johns is my next step with a major in sports management. Now let’s imagine here its coming to the end of the first college year. It time to reflect on some if the things I went through. It was fun believe that all the parties and social events. However, I am missing a lot of things from home. My family is most important though they get on my nerves I still am used to looking at them daily. My friend’s awe may no longer with them every weekend. The boos and babes that I have. I will miss them. People taking my stress away now I have to find another stress reliever.
The blog posts are something I will not mind leaving in the past. I have to do posts for two classes and I have to say that this is why my grades are a little low. It is kind of a superfluous task in my eyes. I do not like busy work a huge pet peeve and I feel like this is one of them. However, I did like some posts that I posted but my favorite I would have to say is the one about the Tea Cup Yorkie. I say this because many people are ignorant to the subject and everybody loves those types of dogs but do not really know how long they last or the health conditions they have. It is a much ignored subject. Many people want to charge people especially Michael Vick but not all the thousands of rich people who claim to have a Tea Cup because they do not want to sincerely take care of their dogs.
I am very proficient when it comes to the media. I will kindly advocate for people to have access in their states however I will not make it a priority. This class is all about technology. In contrast, not everyone has the power to use it. In the senior’s last class we talked about digital divide. The main issue with this topic is the age and availability. My mom and grandparents are very up to date with technology for some odd reason. I do not agree with the fact that they put technology in only the eastern part of the U.S. There should be methods in place to spread access but not right now due to the budget and the many layoffs. I think the way one describes this class is very important. We do need to be literate to the social media. Everything is based off this new way off communication now-a-days. If they are to attack us we are still able to live on technology.  It is also very important because soon we will just run off of technology and anyone who is not prepared will be left behind.

Digital Divide

Immigrants or Natives which one are you? That is a very good question to ask oneself. Many people would say immigrants if you were born before the 80s. Many peoples grandparents do not know how to work technology today. They have a problem with computers as well as cell phones. Though age might be a problem a bigger problem is access.

In class we spoke about rural areas vs. urban. Many rural areas do not have access to technology. This is a huge problem for America. A lot of things are accessed through the internet such as college and job applications. The people in the rural areas are not accessible to such things.

We read about a young man who had to download each page he had to use at home. His mother did not believe in using the internet because she was not able to utilize it and they would have made her pay $70/m for a connection that could not be reached. This is a figth for the country many people believe it should be a right however I do no think so. It is a problem but U.S. has many other issues that they need to face before tackling this one.

Cyber Warfare

The world has found many ways to attack their enemy. But cyber warfare. This is truly showing the growth of technology. Many people agree that this will be the next step when it comes to terrorism. In class we discussed the possibilities and actions of such warfare. Their is a big proportion of people in this country let alone the world that relies on technology. Any attack on our system will destroy this country.

In class we also watched a video. The video basically spoke upon how vulnerable United States would be upon attack. The man who used to be ahead of technology for the country spoke upon the different ways people could get in our system. I feel like that was very stupid on his part because he is giving other countries the go ahead in where and how to attack the U.S.

We also watched a video that discusses how we have already been attacked. Another man spoke upon how they took a whole library of Congress of information away from us. This shows how weak the country is from a standpoint. In addition to that, our school lost power for a couple of hours which affected us greatly and if technology affected a school that much for that 2 or 3 hours it will definitely affect the country if someone decided to attack us through technology.

File Sharing

Everyone at one point in time download music illegally from the Internet. No one would have ever thought that the United States would crack down on such actions. Well they did. They are suing the owner of LimeWire, Mark Gorton for $75 trillion. That is a lot of money however, the owner is not a some poor man living in this country. He has over a $1 million real estate.

Lets take it back a few years ago. They had asked him for years to come in partnership with the 13 record labels he was ripping off. He refused that offer and he hired a lawyer Cohen to defend his agreements. Cohen tried to advise him on taking the deal but he still refused the offer. Years alter he was sued for the big amount of money. One may feel sorry for him but he knew the risk of getting caught when he first signed up for the illegal act.
We all understand that he was suppose to be a an example to the rest of the file sharing companies. However, there are still many websites that let people download music free and illegally. So what did the judge succeed on? I believe that they will always be a way to download music illegally and no one will truly be able to put a stop to it.

Osama Bin Laden

The United States killed Osama a few weeks ago. This is the man that killed over 2,000 people during the terrorist attack September 11, 2001. They invaded his house in Pakistan where he was hiding in a mansion. The military killed him and others in this process however, no American troops were injured.

Now many Americans are acting very ignorant to the whole matter. They were out celebrating his death in the streets everywhere. Not recognizing that they are committing the same act that the Al Qaeda did when the killed the Americans. People do not understand that the lack of sympathy is only going to make their attack worse. Though America has stopped many attacks from them now does not mean that they will not get wiser in their attacks.

Obama is in a very happy stage at this point.  This was one of his biggest promises he had during his elections. This will put him back into the race for his reelection. In his speech he spoke about the reassuring of his duties and how he fulfilled his promise. He also spoke upon the the uniting of the American people and to be on guard but he does inform the U.S. that he has things under control.

However, some people are just not satisfied with peoples word. They want evidence of his body along with other things. Though they have provided the truth through the DNA Americans want pictures. This information is something that the government refuse to disclose and I agree with their decision. People need to put some type of trust in Obama and the government.
